Under Section 22.D.3. of the CBA, a Did Not Fly (DNF) normally carries an assessment of 3 attendance points. However, the assessment may be reduced to 2.5 points when both of the following requirements are met:
- The Flight Attendant picks up a pairing that departs on the same day as the missed pairing, and
- The Flight Attendant secures that assignment while physically present at the departure airport of the missed pairing.
Flight Attendants should always review their Work History to confirm that the reduced point assessment has been entered correctly.
When a DNF Is Used as a Placeholder
A DNF may also initially appear when a Flight Attendant was not available for an assignment or Reserve day and the circumstances still need to be explained or reviewed with a supervisor.
The coding can be changed later when the circumstances support a different designation.
