When irregular operations result in a reassignment and a Flight Attendant loses a scheduled day off, there may be circumstances where that day off can be restored.
Restoring a Day Off
If you are entitled to restoration of a day off:
- The day off must be restored within 90 days of the original lost day.
- The restored day must fall on a regularly scheduled workday.
- When there is more than one possible day to restore, the date should be mutually agreed upon with Crew Scheduling.
- If restoring a day off affects a multi-day pairing, the restored day will generally be the first or last day of the pairing, subject to mutual agreement.
Section 7.R. allows Flight Attendants to restore days off in the same month or in a future bid month.
The “Work With” Window
If you want to restore a day off in the following bid period, contact Crew Scheduling during the “work with” window on the 22nd of the month, before the Open Time window opens.
If you are denied restoration during the work-with window, contact AFA Council 21.
Pay Instead of Restoration
Instead of restoring the day off, a Flight Attendant may elect to receive 5:00 hours of additional pay.
Requests for pay may be submitted through:
CCS → Electronic Bulletin Board → Requests
Keep a record of your request and verify that the pay has been processed correctly in CCS.
