Once on sick leave, Flight Attendants remain on rolling sick leave status until they call to take themselves off sick leave. Reserves must contact FAST to return from sick leave status.
What happens next depends on when you call off sick leave before your next Reserve day of availability:
- Before 1600 HDT: You will be included in Reserve Preferencing or post-preferencing processing. Your assignment will be available through the 1930 automated/online system. No separate call to Crew Scheduling is required.
- 1600–1930 HDT: You will be included in post-preferencing processing. Check the 1930 automated/online system for your assignment. If no assignment appears, contact Crew Scheduling to verify your status.
- After 1930 through 2400 HDT: You must make a separate call to Crew Scheduling. Your assignment will be provided during that call and may be a pairing, Standby, Ready Reserve, or Released.
- After 2400 HDT: You are considered on sick leave for the remainder of that calendar day.
Note: FMLA used to care for a family member (FMER) does not roll in the same manner.
